Fathers Creating Fathers

Meetings are held the last Saturday of every quarter at 10am.

Our vision is to raise Black Young Men to become Father’s.  There is a void in the Black Community.  Father’s aren’t present in the household.  72% of Black Children grow up without their father’s at home.  Our goal is to love and inspire them to be what God created them to be.  We want to be an example and help them develop into the best Father’s they can be so they can change the world.

Research supports the significant impact of African American fathers’ presence on the success of their children. Key findings include:

1. Academic Achievement: Studies reveal that the presence of fathers correlates with higher academic performance among African American children. A case study found that children whose fathers were actively involved in their education consistently performed better in school, supported by specific paternal behaviors like prioritizing education, adapting to challenges, and maintaining strong communication (e.g., “Eight Paternal Behaviors Fostering Academic Success”).

2. Emotional and Social Development: Fathers provide vital emotional support, moral guidance, and active caregiving, contributing to stronger social and emotional skills in their children. This involvement helps mitigate harmful societal stereotypes and promotes resilience against systemic challenges.

3. Behavioral Outcomes: Studies suggest that the presence of fathers can positively influence behavior. For instance, children with active father involvement are less likely to engage in delinquent behavior, as fathers often provide a stabilizing influence and guidance on navigating social challenges.

4. Role Modeling: Fathers act as essential role models, especially for their sons, shaping attitudes toward masculinity, responsibility, and educational aspirations. The absence of fathers, conversely, can perpetuate intergenerational struggles, including lower academic and behavioral outcomes.

These findings underscore the need for broader societal support for fatherhood programs and policies addressing systemic barriers such as economic challenges and high incarceration rates, which disproportionately affect African American fathers.
