About Us
Earl Grandberry Sr. in 1983 was led to start “The Rap Session”, a place on Saturday night where non-Christians and Christians could come together. The Rap Session met every Saturday evening in the formerly known as the Ascot Hotel. In 1986, True Rock Ministries was established and services were held in the Ascot Hotel banquet room.
In 1992, God led Senior Pastor Earl Grandberry Sr. to build a place of worship. Twenty four members raised 2.5 million dollars and built our current location debt free. For over 30 years, we have served the South Loop community. In our efforts to teach people how to live, one day at a time, we are now embarking on the next phase of expanding the ministry – The Rock Dome. Currently God has blessed True Rock Ministries to expand the vision to build a 1500 seat auditorium. The land where the new House of Worship will be built is located next to where the church is currently located. The purpose of The Rock Dome is three-fold: to build partnerships that empower the youth, to provide a safe & benevolent place for seniors, and to offer a place of peace and serenity for the working class and working professionals. The programs developed for The Rock Dome will strengthen the multi-cultural dynamic of the South Loop community with its new church and community center. True Rock is a ministry that serves ALL nations.
God has given Senior Pastor Earl Grandberry Sr. a ministry to teach people how to live according to The Word of God and how to apply it to their daily lives. Our vision to develop a multicultural ministry located in the South Loop of Chicago.
